Passang Sherpa

Passang Sherpa leads this company's Everest-region departures and holds a Nepal government trekking guide licence. Born in Phortse at 3,840 m, he worked as a porter on the Gokyo route before training as a guide, and his experience covers every teahouse route in the Khumbu as well as the Three Passes circuit.

Passang is the named author of the Everest-region content on this site. He keeps in touch with lodge owners in Namche, Dingboche and Gorak Shep through the season. He carries a Wilderness First Responder certification and has coordinated helicopter evacuations above 5,000 m.
